Work is underway on a new road expansion in the Synergy Park industrial complex.

Recent rains dampened the ground but have not slowed the progress of crews working to complete more than a mile of new roads, which will provide easier access to the back 200 acres of the park property.
Lisa Denton, assistant director for Kilgore Economic Development Corporation, said construction began on the roads in late October with an expected completion date in June.
The total cost of the project is set at $2,694,650.37. It will take about 40,000 cubic yards of dirt to level the rugged terrain.
“This new roadway will enable us to have access to the property to show prospects the sites in a more convenient way,” Denton said. “If we wanted to show someone the sites now, we would need to load them on 4-wheelers.”
Denton also said KEDC is expanding sewage and other infrastructure services to the new sites as the road is installed.
