    50% of businesses do not have a website!  Does your small business fall into this category?  
    The Kilgore College Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Texas Office of the Governor, Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO), Kilgore Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) and Kilgore Chamber of Commerce will be partnering with the international Internet and software company Google to host two workshops for small business owners and entrepreneurs entitled, "Texas Get Your Business Online." 
     
    The workshops will be provided on Thursday, May 31from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. at the Maude Cobb Convention Center's Eitelman Conference Room in Longview, TX.  These are identical workshops, so please RSVP for the time slot that works best for your schedule.  There is no fee to attend but RSVP is required by May 24.  Laptops will be available for use to the first 50 registrants for each session.

    LeTourneau University awarded diplomas Saturday to 372 graduates during morning and afternoon ceremonies in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, including April McCamey, the newest Kilgore Economic Development Corp. staff member.

    The Kilgore business community has welcomed its newest corporate citizen, DRILLTOOLS, LLC, into Synergy Industrial Park.  The company combines new and existing technology to manufacture drilling and excavation products primarily for heavy civil construction.  

    DRILLTOOLS has constructed a 50,000 SF building valued at $1,780,000 on 9.25 acres at 401 Enterprise St.  The company also has installed $2,550,000 in machinery and equipment, and intends to acquire $950,000 worth of inventory and hire 40 full-time employees.  In return, Kilgore Economic Development Corporation will grant the company incentives worth $337,500 for the construction of capital improvements in Kilgore and for new job creation to offset the cost of the company’s real estate purchase in Synergy Park.

    Sometimes to get things done, you just have to work together. That's the new creed of a handful local leaders who put pen to paper this week, signing over their portions of almost $6 million for road work around Kilgore.

    Kilgore Economic Development Corp. received the Texas Economic Development Council’s Economic Excellence award at the council’s spring conference in Rockwall April 19. 

    "KEDC works hard to maintain professionalism and offer superior services," aid KEDC Executive Director Amanda Nobles.  "It is an honor to be recognized for excellence by the state's premier economic development professional group."
