Dr. Charles Whiteside is a success story.  He is a Texas A&M University graduate, founder of  the East Texas section of the American Chemical Society, former chairman of the chemistry department at Kilgore College and owner of Ana-Lab Corp. in Kilgore, among other honors.  And now he is being recognized at an ACS meeting in Washington D.C. later this month.  Dr. Whiteside is among the first class to be elected as a Fellow of the ACS.

KEDC objectives include contributing to a business climate and offering resources conducive to meeting the needs of local industry.  We had the honor of  presenting a performance check to Ana-Lab recently when they built an additional new facility in Kilgore.

Bill Adamson, President of KEDC noted, “From the time Dr. Whiteside came to Kilgore, he began contributing to the local economy. From the trailer he pulled behind his vehicle, he has grown his business to what we see today. It is KEDC’S pleasure to present this $20,000 check to Dr. Whiteside and Ana-Lab.”

In a very competitive market, developing and growing small businesses is a valuable economic development tool. Ana-Lab is a great example of the importance of small business to a city. Congratulations, Dr. Whiteside!
