Kilgore, TX – Baker Petrolite proposes to spend $9,000,000 to expand its existing facility in Kilgore and to locate $1,000,000 in personal property improvements, according to an economic development agreement approved Tuesday by the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation board of directors. Additionally, the company will retain 75 full-time jobs at its facility in Kilgore for at least three years.
In return, KEDC has agreed to reimburse the company $100,000. “Baker Petrolite is an important part of our existing economic base,” said KEDC Board President Bobby Beane. We are delighted to help.”
The company will be expanding onto property KEDC purchased in 2008 and developed into a marketable asset, according to Amanda Nobles, KEDC Executive Director, allowing Kilgore to retain jobs and gain the new investment.
