Kilgore – Kilgore Economic Development Corporation has teamed with Skeeter Boats, Allied/Republic Services, Sonic-Drive In, The Boys & Girls Club of Kilgore, and Texas Parks & Wildlife to provide Kilgore children up to 12 years a trout fishing opportunity at Elder Lake in Synergy Park December 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Trout for Tots at Elder Lake” provides free fishing fun for kids as they experience catching and keeping rainbow trout.  The first 80 children who register will receive a gift bag.   TP&W will have a limited supply of rods & reels, and children are encouraged to bring their own. Corn and marshmallows will be available to all for bait.

“The event is not only an opportunity to contribute to the business climate of Kilgore and to promote some of our employers, but also to highlight Synergy Park,” said KEDC Executive Director Amanda Nobles.  “One of the most unique and marketable components of the park is its ‘green’ aspect. This is a wonderful way to showcase the campus-style atmosphere of this industrial park.”

“Trout for Tots” is part of a special Saturday for children in Kilgore.  Also from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau will present the Mt. Kilgore Snow Hill downtown. The event is free and guarantees real snow providing a downhill tubing adventure for kids of all ages who are taller than 42 inches.

Synergy Park is located two miles south of Interstate 20 on US 259 Loop.  Elder Lake is immediately to the left on entering the park.  Registration will be in the pavilion. For more information on “Trout for Tots” call 903.983.3522.  Good fishing!
