Excellence in economic development

Recently the Texas Economic Development Council recognized just 35 communities in the state of Texas and only two in the Northeast Texas region as having excellence in economic development.  As honored as we are, attaining this recognition has never been our goal.  In reviewing the application, Kilgore Economic Development staff discovered we already exceeded the threshold for what the statewide professional organization considers excellence. 

Our mission is to foster an environment that enables job creation and investment in our economy, and this peer validation lets me know we are on the right track!  Congratulations to the leadership from our board of directors, our staff and the community of Kilgore.
