Kilgore Economic Development Corporation Thursday was one of 35 communities to receive an award of recognition from the Texas Economic Development Council for economic excellence. The organization presented the awards at the TEDC 2010 Spring Awards Breakfast in Arlington during the group’s annual spring conference.
According to the TEDC website, the Economic Excellence Recognition Awards are an effort to continue strengthening the knowledge and skills of economic development professionals and volunteers throughout the state. This program provides recognition to economic development agencies that meet a desired threshold of professionalism.
“The quality of a community’s location services is important to companies seeking locations or expansions,” said Lisa Denton, KEDC’s Assistant Director. “We continue to plan for professional development at KEDC to provide the best location services possible to benefit the Kilgore economy.”
The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) is an Austin-based, statewide, non-profit professional association dedicated to the development of economic and employment opportunities in Texas.
