Kilgore Economic Development Corporation reimbursed HighPoint Packaging for exceeding the annual criteria necessary under contract to earn KEDC incentives. The company earned $46,000 after investing $1 million in personal property and adding seven full-time employees, one more than the contract specified. The company is in the second of a three year contract, and produces specialty papers and packaging.
“Expansion brings a group of challenging issues that have to come together for success,” said Don James, President of HighPoint Packaging. “KEDC has helped with one piece of the puzzle, so we can focus on the others.”
“We want to help our local businesses,” said Bobby Beane, KEDC Board President. “Everyone thinks economic development is all about new business announcements, but Kilgore’s success is dependent on the growth and expansion of our resident businesses.”
