The East Texas Council of Governments exceeded the annual criteria necessary under contract to earn $33,333 in Kilgore Economic Development Corporation incentives. The contract called for ETCOG to maintain at least 50 employees over a three-year period. In its first of the three-year contract, the association employs 61 and plans to renovate its regional headquarters in Kilgore.
“I don’t think we could accomplish our objectives without KEDC,” said David Cleveland, Executive Director of ETCOG. “We now have employees distributed throughout three different buildings. New construction will allow us to consolidate our entire team in Kilgore, and KEDC’s contribution is critical.”
“I think is it important to note ETCOG is meeting the economic commitments they have with KEDC,” said KEDC President Bobby Beane. “Supporting the retention and expansion of existing companies is vital. We are glad to be a part of growth, especially in our current economy.”
ETCOG is an association of counties, cities, school districts and special districts within the 14-county East Texas region that assists local governments in planning for common needs. The association will be eligible for two additional incentive checks.
