Trout and tubing promise big day

Kids will have the opportunity to do a little trout fishing next month as part of a cooperative effort between the state’s wildlife department and Kilgore Economic Development Corporation. And they can end the day with tubing on the Chamber of Commerce snow hill.

The International Economic Development Council Wednesday awarded Kilgore Economic Development Corporation with an award for best website at its annual convention in Reno, Nev.

Synergy pavilion named for KEDC chief

Amanda Nobles’ first thought when she saw cars parked along Synergy Park’s main entrance on Thursday afternoon was that someone darn sure needed to get a parking ticket.  Coworkers coerced her to walk across the street to the pavilion next to Elder Lake and Nobles wondered why 50 or so of her friends and colleagues, even her husband Phillip, were staring up at her as she made her way down the steps to the lake level.  

After several kind words regarding Nobles 19- year career as KEDC’s director of economic development, Adamson and Williams unveiled the new sign installed that morning on the pavilion’s fascia that reads “Amanda S. Nobles Pavilion.”
