Halliburton will invest about $12 million at its Kilgore site and will bring 120 new jobs to town by 2011, a local economic official said Monday.
"Halliburton is an important member of the Kilgore corporate community," said Amanda Nobles, director of the Kilgore Economic Development Corp. "They are the city's largest taxpayer, and we are very happy to assist them with their expansion during these economic times."
Kilgore Economic Development Specialist Lisa Denton vacationed in the Ukraine and, with others, volunteered her time to discuss economic growth strategies with Kilgore's sister city, Rzshichiv.
